Nice Day For A White Wedding

8/7/09 Katie and Tanner were married! I flew out to D.C. Wed. 8/5 and got to spend a few days with Katie before she became Mrs. Parkinson! I'm so glad I went out early, it gave us some time to talk and hang out. We haven't done that since before I was married. Katie is one of my best friends and we have known each other since I was born. Like the very second I was born. She is exactly 6 weeks older than me and she is my cousin. We lived in the same apartment complex until we were two and then our families moved to Southern California. We spent all of our time together and we were even baptized together! Soon after we turned 8 Katie's family moved to VA and we would spend every Sunday on the phone (back when it cost 10 cents a minute on the weekends!) When Katie turned 13 I surprised her by flying back east and hanging out for two weeks. We had so much fun that summer, dying our hair with dollar store dye, going to the library, making a 45 minute long movie titled "Weeks of Our Lives". That very same Summer my dad announced that we would be moving to PA and Katie would be only 3 hours away. We saw each other every month when my parents would drive down to go to the Temple. We kept notebooks that we exchanged every month instead of between class periods. We went to EFY together, created a girl band called The Zap Girls (Zap=zesty and pretty!), and we became obsessed with Hanson and N*sync. We went to both of their concerts together and cried when we thought that one of them might have a girlfriend! We traveled to London for our senior trip and went on many summer road trips. Finally we attended BYU and became roommates our sophomore year. Katie credits herself for introducing me and Matt! She had met him a semester before I moved into our apartment. Matt remembers me saying hi and going to my room without even looking at him but that's a story for another day. Katie was a brides maid at my wedding and then soon after she left for her mission. I wasn't great at keeping in touch and we sort of drifted apart. However, in the last few months we have picked up where we left off and are the best of friends! I'm so glad I was able to be in her wedding and share that beautiful day with her! oh and now we are planning to have a baby around the same time (we didn't define which # baby for either of us that would be!)

Destined to be BFF's
