Last Day

Mom, Jenna and Hailey came to help me clean after the movers left. It was a sad day. Lindsey and Kerrigan came too and helped us dispose of boxes in someone elses dumpster. Sneaky right?! We thought so.
~
Nap time after strenously watching the movers pack.

Clean Kitchen

Our bedroom all empty :(

Hailey watching TV while we were banned to the bedroom so the movers could pack up our family room.

Here I am running out to meet the guy who was taking our car away. It was pouring allllll day long.

Yummy.

Clean Bathroom

Last look at our apartment.

Very sad to go; I started crying when I gave the keys to my landlord.

Conversation of The Week

And it goes a little bit like this..............

I was at Costco today with my mom, two younger sisters and their friend. My sisters were hitting up every sample booth possible and came across a tiny dilemma. The booth sampling grilled salmon would not let any child under the age of 18 have a sample without a parent present. I suppose this is because the child could be allergic and eat the fish and then the parents would sue Costco......

Because my sisters love their salmon they ventured all the way across the store to retrieve a parental figure to give permission to the salmon lady for them to have a taste. My mom would not go so I proceeded to help them on their quest. And this is how the convo went.

Salmon lady (to young child in front of us): Where is your parent?
The young child looks back at me.
Salmon Lady: Her? She's not a parent, she's a CHILD.
Me: ME???????
Salmon Lady (in accusatory voice): Are you 18????
Me: NO! I am 25! (well in 2 months but she didn't need to know that)
Salmon Lady: Oh, well you should keep that a secret.
Me: Yeah well give me my sample and btw you look 100 years old.

Haha Jk I would never say that. In fact I wasn't even offended. I am used to people thinking I am 16 years old. I'm actually at that age where I like people to think I am younger than I am. So I just got a good laugh out of that conversation. The End.

Work

My last day of work was Wednesday and it was bittersweet. I really enjoyed my job and the people I have met. I had so many residents with whom I became close to over the past two years. I will always remember them and the lessons they taught me. People always asked me if it was hard to see so many people pass on. It is hard but I know I'll see them again one day and they all have lived such great lives and were happy with their accomplishments.
I'm glad that I chose to work at Greenwich Woods and I truly feel like I am a different person because of it.

Me and Myrna. My diligent resident that called me almost daily. I'll miss her a ton.

The Social Work department. Me, Tara and Kerri. Best group of girls to work with.

Partaaay

Our super awesomely cool CT friends threw us a going away party last Saturday. We had it at the Stokes' apartment club house and pool. We were hoping to swim but the weather has been icky lately so no go. We BBQ'd and just hung out. It was a lot of fun and I am going to miss our friends SOOOO much. We have made so many life long friends here and as you can tell by the photo collage they are freaking awesome! Thanks guys, we love you and will miss you.

Lasts

Matt got an early birthday present last Friday when we went to see Dennis Deyoung in concert at BB Kings Jazz club. Dennis Deyoung is the original lead singer of Styx and wrote many of their songs. Despite being the youngest people there, we had a great time! It was unfortunately my last time to ride the train into the city:(

On Saturday we went to the Temple for the last time with my parents. It was Matt's last time to see them before he goes out to AZ. It was a sad good-bye.

We went to Lucky's Diner with the Stokes and I love love love their Peanut Butter Chocolate shakes. They are to die for!

Went to a park in CT to take some final pictures. Matt loves to goof off............

I will truly miss this animal. There are no squirrels in AZ :( Or none that I know of.

It's That Time

For months now we have been waiting to hear where Hyatt would be sending us. Last Monday Matt was offered the position of Assistant Director of Engineering at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix. So in a short two weeks Matt will be moving out to Arizona and starting his new job. I'm sticking behind a little bit longer to finish work and hang out with my family before I leave them for the West.....

We're really excited to be able to buy a house, be in a snow free environment and live closer to our family on the West! This is a bittersweet time in our lives because we will really miss Greenwich, living close to NYC, our great friends, living so close to my family and PA friends and the East in general.

We expect everyone to come visit, since no one came to see us here* ;)

*this comment excludes Karen, Amy, Aunt Lezlie, Megan, and my family. <3
