Family Reunion Part 2

On Tuesday we all headed up to Julian (of course we had to make a stop at Costco and spend hundreds of dollars)! Wednesday was my 28th birthday! For lunch we went into town and ate at a cute little Mexican restaurant. We took almost every seat in that place! That night we had my favorites, red velvet and carrot cake. I opened my presents which included new sun glasses, a CD, Target gift card, lunch bag, money, peanut butter m&m's, etc. The following day we all kind of hung around the house and went swimming, watched the Olympics, played phase 10 and ate lots of food! Matt got a bunch of people into "The Stand" so they were watching that every night....even the kids! Friday the men had their golf tournament (which Matt played great at!), and the women threw me a baby shower! My cousin Kate put it all together and had assignments for all the ladies. We had chicken salad sandwiches, fresh fruit, my favorite Asher's chocolate covered pretzels and Aunt Lynn's homemade caramels. They started the shower with a game about me...basically to see who knows me best. Questions included, when is the due date?, what does Ami do for a living?, What did Matt say when he learned the baby was a girl?, etc. It was really fun and I think Lauren won but I can't remember. We also played a 'guess the celebrities baby pictures' and the see how big my belly is. A lot of people offended on that one haha. I then opened presents and received a lot of REALLY cute outfits. Grandma gave me a bouncer and Mom gave me an IOU stroller (which we bought the other day). It was a lot of fun! Thanks fam for spoiling me. Friday evening we made Lauren a Bride sash out of toilet paper and nail polish because we are classy like that. We tried to go to bed early for her big day!

Mexican Restaurant

Whenever I'm on the phone with my mom I am either going through a McDonald's drive thru or BK so she got me this lunch bag so I can take a 'healthy' lunch for the baby haha.

Aunt Lezlie is an author and she gave me a bunch of her books for the nursery!

33 Weeks

At my last growth ultrasound baby girl was measuring a bit small so my doctor decided to have me do another one this week. Her abdomen is still measuring small but she is now in the 16th percentile vs the 13th. She weighs 4 lbs 8 ounces which is good. She was doing some really cute things during the US. She was grabbing her feet and the US tech got a picture of it but I don't think you can see it that well. It was more visible when she was actually moving on the screen. She was also opening and closing her mouth. The US tech said that she is a very active baby and maybe that is why she isn't gaining as much weight because she exercises all day long! haha I didn't tell her that she loves sugar and since I eat so much of it she is always moving around!! I am technically 33 weeks 3 days but the measurements show 33 weeks so I'm pretty close but I'll try and keep that in mind when she is late!
Everything else is going well. We painted the nursery this weekend and moved the crib and changing table in. It's so cute, I have to look in every time I walk by!!!

Family Reunion Part 1

This year the Peterson Family reunion was held in San Diego. We originally found the most beautiful home to rent in Murrieta for our entire family (40 people)! We were so excited but then they called in June and said their HOA was suing them so sorry they can't rent to us anymore. Well we all were scrambling to find another place in only 6 short weeks. We lucked out and my cousin and Aunt found this great house in Julian which is about 1 hour east of San Diego. Unfortunately it did not hold as many as the first house and was a bit pricier so one of my uncles could not come. We decided from here on out we will go to Utah for our reunions where the rentals are more affordable. So we all arrived on Saturday by planes, trains, and automobiles....ok no one arrived on a train. Anyways we all arrived in time for my Aunt Lezlie's 50th birthday party, but before that we had to congregate at PF Changs for a light dinner. Ha who am I kidding....it is never 'light' with the Peterson bunch! Uncle Whitney ordered like 20 entrees and we all left stuffed but promised to eat the delicious food they had prepared for the party! The party was at Aubs new beautiful home and we all surprised Aunt Lez....she had no idea! Sunday we had a delicious dinner with Lauren's soon to be in-laws. Monday Matt and I had the chance to drive to LA to see our good friends, Mary and Eddie. Eddie was diagnosed with a brain tumor in June and he was going to UCLA for radiation treatments every day of the week. Mary and Eddie had dropped the kids off at my cousin’s house while they went to treatments and so we were able to get to Kate's house in time for them to swing by to pick them up. I'm so glad we got to see them. I really wish we lived closer so we could spend more time together. Mary and Eddie are such great examples of people with unlimited faith. Eddie just finished radiation last week and we are really rooting for him!
So after a yummy lunch in LA with Kaite, Tanner, and Cami we headed back to San Diego and met the rest of the family at the beach. I love the beach...I can't even tell you how much. Matt....not so much. He loves the mountains. After the beach we headed back to Uncle Whit's house and swam in his brand new pool! He just renovated his backyard from a patch of grass to a resort style oasis....seriously. It is so nice. I even got in the spa for a few minutes (don’t worry it wasn’t hot just warm) but Matt wouldn't have it....he had my sisters getting all upset and making me get out because they didn't like to see Matt upset haha. The next day it was off to Julian for the real party!

When Matt Has The Camera

The Moffitt family reunion was held this year in Cedar City from July 12-14. The family reunion takes place in Ca one year and Ut the other to make it fair to the family living in those states. We usually only make it to the CA reunion because it is closer for us to drive. Because it was in Cedar City this year Matt decided to drive up for it (8 hours vs 12 to SLC). I was unable to go because of work responsibilities. When Matt got home I looked at the pictures he had taken with his camera and there were about twenty from the renaissance fair he attended and a bunch more of the mountains. Haha it's just funny what he takes pictures of. I was happy Matt was able to go because he saw most of his siblings. He was especially happy to see his brother who he had not seen for five years. They all stayed in a house together and went to the renaissance festival and played games and went to a car show. Oh and of course went shooting! On Saturday the extended Moffitt family met up at a park and had a surprise baby shower for us and Lisa (matts sister). I was so sad that I missed it. It was fun for Matt though because he got to open all of the gifts and cut the cake! Thanks again for the shower and the gifts!!! Wish I could have gone.
