Gus Gus

Thursday afternoon I was sitting in my classroom chatting with the teachers when the vice principal came on the loud speaker and said, "We found four kittens in the AC system in the 2nd grade building and we need to find homes for them. Please come to the front office if you are interested". I didn't immediately think about going but after I mentioned to the other teachers how I had been talking about getting a kitten they convinced me to go look.
You may be thinking right now, "well ami didn't you just adopt two cats in January?" To this I respond, Why yes I did. However, Mama kitty ran away from us about 6 weeks ago. I put up signs around the neighborhood with her picture and our phone number but no one called. I feel bad that she ran away and I feel irresponsible but I really tried to find her and maybe she'll come home one day. That being said I needed a new kitten to fill the void in my heart! Baby kitty is loving and all but she favors Matt so I had been telling Matt this week how we needed a new cat for me.
I tried getting a hold of Matt to see if he would approve but he didn't answer; his Secretary said he was behind closed doors and that she would give him the message. I decided I would just go take a little peek. Peeking never hurt anyone right?! When I got there two of the four had been taken and the remaining two were female (which I wanted). Apparently the AC guy took them to the human society and they said they wouldn't take them. The secretary told me that if no one wanted them they would put them in the park across the street from the school! The mom cat had taken off when the AC guy came by and she was waiting in the park for us to leave. But I know that neighborhood and there are more stray dogs and hooligans that I can count on my two hands so I knew it wouldn't be good for them to be left in that park. I made an executive decision and took the fattest kitten and another lady took the last one.
She is only 4 weeks old so I have to feed her with a bottle and she does not like to eat even though she is a chunker! I named her Gus Gus because the ladies at work said she reminded them of the mouse gus gus from Cinderella.
That's the story of the newest member of our family. Oh and Matt was totally fine with me getting her even though our baby kitty is not happy. She hisses and has been a little standoffish but I think she'll get over it.

Yay for my new sister!

Well, that is pretty much the cutest kitten I have ever seen. I hope she bonds with you and then you can have a kitty who rides on your shoulder, maybe/.
