This Looks Familiar

Right now I have gauze in my mouth and am holding a piece of frozen chicken against the right side of my face. This feels familiar.....oh yeah, that's because it is!
Last July I had my wisdom teeth out and it was the most traumatizing experience of my adult life (which I assume child birth will surpass one day). You can only imagine my excitement when my dentist told me that my upper right molar was dead and needed to be extracted. I'd have to say that the actual extraction part was much more enjoyable when I was under anesthesia. Today they just numbed me up and twisted and yanked until my tooth popped out.
So I am definitely having a 'haven't I been here before?' moment. I promise from here on out to take much better care of my teeth because I will NOT go through this a third time.

Orchid

My work gave me this plant today in honor of social work month. I love Orchids, they are so pretty and exotic looking.

Does anyone know how to take care of Orchids? I hear it is very hard to keep them alive.......

It's Really Not A Chick Flick....Right??

Matt finally watched Twilight! After much protesting and saying things like, "Should I invite my guy friends over so we can hold hands while we watch?" he finally gave in. Unfortunatley I can't say that he loved it, or even really liked it. He thought the dialogue between Bella and Edward was awkward (agreed) and that some of the acting was horrible. He said it was much like "Harry Potter 1", the actors are still trying to figure out their characters and the storyline is slow. I actually agreed with him on most of his points. However, I still love "Twilight" and will never be disloyal ;) Was I just being disloyal by agreeing with him? I am ashamed:(

This is like the only picture where they both look good.

Heaven

Last Thursday a Rita's opened up 10 miles from us in Mamaroneck, NY! I am in heaven:) I grew up on Rita's which was originally founded in Bensalem, PA. Rita's serves water ice and custard and the water ice is made daily and with fresh fruit. Matt and I, along with some friends, ventured over to Rita's Saturday night to find that they were still giving away free water ice's for their grand opening. I got my favorite, Mango and Matt tried Georgia Peach. I had to take this picture for my family because on the first day of Spring every year (the day Rita's opens as it is seasonal) they call me to rub it in that they are eating at Rita's! Well haha family now I can get all the Rita's I want!!!!

Day At The Museum

Friday night I went over to my friend's house for a girls sleepover! I haven't gone to a sleepover in a longgg time. It was so much fun! (I have no pics:( ) There were 5 of us and we stayed up all night talking and eating! My two favorite things. All of the husbands went to someone else's house and stayed up literally all night playing Risk and Acquire. They stayed up until 7am! Saturday we all got up and headed into the city to go to the Museum of Natural History. Matt and I went in a little later and met everyone. The museum was fun and a must do while in NYC. We were able to get in for free because of Bank of America! Thanks BofA. After the museum we went to a yummy restaurant called The City Grill and then went to Juniors to get cheesecake. Matt and I didn't get the cheesecake but I tried Lindsey's red velvet cheesecake and I will def. be getting it next time! We had a great weekend with our awesome friends.

To the right of me were scary yucky spiders.

Here's A Thought....

So as I'm sitting at my desk today listening to the same three CD's the nursing home plays over and over again on the loud speaker, I began to think. Not just think in general but think about the music that I 'get' to listen to almost daily, which includes Frank Sinatra, Elvis and Etta James. Most of the residents in the nursing home grew up with this music so it's nostalgic for them to hear these tunes, even if they hear the same songs 5 times each day.
So I began to wonder, what will nursing homes play when I am 80 years old? I hope that I never have to enter a nursing home, but if I do, what will I hear? I have grown up with rockers such as N*Sync, Dashboard Confessional, No Doubt, Rhianna, Cold Play and so on. Will nursing homes play these tunes in 60 years?

And that is what I spent most of my day thinking about.

Happy Day

Today I feel a little more hope that winter will some day end. I love when the days start getting longer and warmer:) This weekend it was 65 degrees out! Compare that to the 15 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday and the blizzard that hit us last Monday. I am feeling pretty good right now. I even had to put the AC on when I was driving around yesterday. It was only on for about two minutes, but I was pretty happy! Yay for daylight savings and Spring, which is only 2 weeks away~
