T.V.

Now that I'm done with school I am really into catching up on t.v. shows (and reading!)....I've watched a few t.v. series this year that I really liked....Veronica Mars, Psych, Drop Dead Diva, etc. One that I really got into is being canceled! Why do they always cancel the shows I like? Matt also likes this show so that says a lot because he is ultra picky when it comes to t.v. Example: he does not care for Psych! Who does he think he is? So the show that we both really like is called Perfect Couples. It's hilarious and clean and NBC just canceled it. UGH. At least I have a few other shows on right now that I like. Have you seen The Middle? I love it. Anyways before I start a full-time job I need to catch up on more good t.v. Any suggestions? I have Netflix and I know how to use it!

Sisters Do As Sisters Should

I was pleasantly surprised when my mom and dad agreed to fly Kyra and Lauren out for a visit in April. Kyra was on break from BYU-I and Lauren was on her way back to BYU from PA. Kyra arrived on a Friday and left the following Friday and Lauren arrived on Tuesday and left the following Monday. So I had visitors for 11 days!! We had so much fun. We hit up Rita's, In-N-Out, Thrifty's ice cream, Rubio's, and Texas Roadhouse. We also went to the mall, Mesa Easter Pageant, Border's, the Hyatt to visit Matt, and Target (gotta hit up target). We spent countless hours by the pool reading and working on our tans. On Kyra's last night Matt took us all shooting. It was Kyra and Lauren's first time and I think they had fun!



We had a lot of great laughs at the expense of our family ;) It's always fun to get together with your sisters and party. ({})

Birth Mother's Day

Today is Birth Mother's Day. This day was originally founded in 1990 by a group of birthmoms in Seattle, Washington and is celebrated the day before Mother's Day. Today is a day to honor the valiant, courageous, and selfless women who gave their children such a precious gift. I'm so grateful to know and work with so many of these women.

But not really because I only get 5 tickets and I'm sure the 5 that are coming are the only ones that care to endure the 2 long hours of fun that is a graduation!

5 Days

Until I am done with school for the rest of my life! (at least I think/hope I am and Matt seconds that!)

I only have two papers and one final left and I am so excited that I just don't feel like writing them! So goes senioritis. Today was my last Wednesday class and I started to feel a little sad as I walked out of that classroom forever. Some of my classmates are leaving this week and driving back to the places they came from. I'm really going to miss our weekly classes aka social gatherings!

I remember feeling this way when I graduated from BYU but I also knew that I would have another year of fun because Matt was still in school. I don't have that this time and I know that I'll never go back and visit my tiny downtown campus. I'm getting all nostalgic here but I guess what I'm trying to say is that you have to let go eventually to move on to bigger and better things, which in my case is nothing at the moment! Job search in progress.

I'm ready to move on but not quite....I've made some great friends and learned a lot about myself this year and I'm just so grateful for the experiences I've had at ASU.

Easter

To me Easter is kind of like Thanksgiving. I remember all that I am thankful for because of Jesus Christ's sacrifice.

I'm grateful that he made is possible for me to live with these people in the next life.....

I'm grateful that he suffered in the garden so that I can repent of the many sins that I commit each day. I'm so grateful that he knows how I feel when I am burdened with sorrow and grief. No one is without pain in this life and the atonement makes it so that we can feel peace while enduring excruciating pain. I love this scripture: Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I have experienced the atonement working in my life and I am so grateful for Jesus Christ! He lives and he will come again.

A Favor For My Sister....

My little sister Hailey loves to read. She also loves to write letters to her favorite authors and have them sign their books for her. When she found out Brandon Mull (author of the Fablehaven series) was going on tour she mentioned that she would like a signed copy of his new book. She didn't ask me but instead asked my other sister who lives in Utah. I happened to see this conversation on Facebook and quickly pulled up his tour dates and locations. Sure enough he had a signing in Phoenix! You see, I also love his books. In fact I introduced them to Hailey....I quickly told my sister that I would be the one who would get her a signed copy because I wanted to get myself a signed copy!! I used my sister as an excuse but I love to do stuff like that! Even though I was probably the only person at the signing over the age of 12 (I am that cool), I had a ton of fun!

Shout out to my hubs because he drove up after work so I wouldn't be alone!

Afterwards we literally went right by the new Rita's! We had to stop. Rita's water ice and custard is the best treat ever. Seriously I love this stuff. I'm so happy a piece of Philly has made it to AZ. It's a 30 minute drive from my house but I might have to drive it like every week!! This picture makes it look kind of nasty! It's the new flavor, Peanut Butter Chocolate and I promise it's really really good!
